with Tianwa Yang in the context of the Kasseler Musiktage
30 August 2019, 21:30 hrs
DARK CONCERT in the Museum of Sepulchral Culture
Atmospheric sounds in a special concert format: night songs by Bruch, Schubert, Pärt, Messiaen and others.
ENCOUNTERS on very different levels: between composers, countries and epochs, but also between artists and audiences - we are delighted that from 29 August to 1 September the festival will take place for the fourth time, making such kinds of encounters possible in a wonderful way.
TIANWA YANG, the top violinist of her generation who has been living in Kassel since 2013, has put together a programme this year which not only brings together top-class musicians on stage, but also presents masterpieces of chamber music - well-known and unknown - in four very differently tuned concerts and brings them into new contexts of meaning. The violinist captivates on the international stages with her creativity and musicality, which make every concert a unique experience. She expresses her high level of intensity together with her celebrated guests, some of whom we have already experienced in recent years and some of whom we have won over the festival.
Listen to music from and inspired by Robert Schumann, spherical sounds by Arvo Pärt and Olivier Messiaen in dark surroundings, nostalgic moments with Johannes Brahms, music in the Hungarian folk tone by Belá Bartók and many other composers and formations.
We are looking forward to the ENCOUNTERS with the well-known audience that has formed in recent years, and of course many new faces.
